Mingus Tijuana Moods (DXD) a s Sonically Spectacular
Charles Mingus believed that this was his greatest recording, and it certainly ranks near the top. The exceptional sound quality and spaciousness of the recording comes through on the transfer. Great job HDTT.

Tijuana Moods - Charlie Mingus
Had this album on vinyl for years. The DSD 256 file sounds so much better and really adds to the enjoyment of this album. Fantastic sounding effort.

Nice Spacious Atmospheric Sound
Tijuana Moods has a nice atmospheric sound. This must have been one of RCA's first stereo jazz recordings. It's been reissued on vinyl in various audiophile incarnations. It is considered an audiophile classic. I've never owned any of the vinyl versions, but compared to a cd rip the DSD version has more depth, a wider soundstage and richer detail. The cd rip sounds surprisingly good, which is a testament to the quality of the recording. The songs are all good, but not as stellar as on Mingus Ah Um. For those curious to see what the big deal about Mingus is, I would start with Mingus Ah Um and The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady, as a first purchases and then branch out from there. For those into Mingus it's a must buy.

Amazing
I really liked the SACD before this. the SACD sounds too intense upon comparison. love this purhchase.
