Fast paced
Mitropoulos takes this symphony in a distinctively faster pace than others, delivering a hot and intense reading that perfectly complements other more measured interpretations. The transfer and sound is very good, close up, with limited depth, though detailed and full range. Recommended.
Hot and Intense
Mitropoulos takes this piece in a distinctively faster pace than others, delivering a hot and intense reading that perfectly complements other more famous versions. The transfer and sound is good, close up, detailed and full range. On par with the best CBS recordings from that period. Recommended.
