Another great HDTT disc
Another great HDTT surround sound recording. You can really hear the hall it was recorded in in this ambient disc!
A bit out of their depth
All too clear in this demanding work that we are not dealing with a professional orchestra. The horns do some nice work, particularly the off-stage hunting calls, but trumpets struggle at the high end of their ranges. Engineers could have used a little more imagination is producing directional effects. Finally, despite multi-channel format, they can't disguise the dry acoustics of the recording venue.
