Recorded in the autumn of 1957, this live album features two landmark performances by tenor saxophonist Stan Getz and trombonist J.J. Johnson. They are supported by a formidable rhythm section, including Oscar Peterson on piano, Ray Brown on bass, Herb Ellis on guitar, and Connie Kay on drums. The album is filled with vibrant intensity as the musicians power through Charlie Parker's "Billie's Bounce" and the standard "Crazy Rhythm." The tempo slows down slightly for more subtle interplay in "My Funny Valentine," "Yesterdays," and "It Never Entered My Mind."
