No Danço Samba
The transfer itself is excellent, the recording less so. The recording engineer seems to have mic'd the individual instruments to provide for greater stereo separation but the result is not convincing as a soundstage and the instruments seem muffled. The musicians themselves are in fine form and the compositions interesting but the music is somewhat let down by the decisions the recording engineer seems to have made at the time.
Very Nice Album & Well Recorded
Released 1965 by World Pacific Records. This is another excellent album by Carlos Jobim & Clare Fischer; a great tribute from one Maestro to another (Antonio Carlos Jobim). Every track on this album is meticulously recorded. Clare Fischer is an always interesting pianist who knows how to mix everything from Boogie Woogie to the Avant Garde into a cohesive whole. Transferred from a 15ips 2-track tape is really a treat, Thanks to Richard Bock for bringing this album to life.
