Sibelius no 5
Best that I could find but SQ was still a little underwhelming.

Sibelius Symphony 5 - Bernstein NYPO
Classic recording, rightly feted across the pond, sounding splendid in a typically fine remastering by HDTT. Buy without hesitation.

Sibelius 5, Bernstein, NYP
Sibelius’s triumphant fifth symphony masterpiece is supra-superb here. Far and away, sonically superior to every one of the Bernstein NYPs of this recording I’ve ever heard. And Bernie’s may still be the best rendering to reach these old ears. Pohjola’s Daughter is about a minute fast for my urgencies, but rightly paced in sections. And again, beautiful in its sonorities. Hard to step astray here.
An Outstanding 5th from Bernstein's NYPO Cycle
For me this was a real discovery. The performance was "short listed" by Christopher Breunig on his list of Essential Recordings of the Sibelius Symphony No.5. I can thoroughly back up his opinion and so too the performance of Pohjola's Daughter. Magnificent performances and so too the remastering. The DSD mastering sounds amazing. One of the best.
