Very disapointed.
I am a huge fan of these two works, especially Grieg's Piano Concerto. I like Géza Anda's reading of these works too, so I was ddelighted to find this site, promissing a "impressing, delighting, and even astonishing" transfer of this recording, and in hi-fi... But think about this... What good is it to have a recording in Hi-Fi, if the remastering is this bad!!!??? I suppose it can be just for some kind of music, maybe hard rock or something, but definitely not for classical music, where most listeners like to sit back and enjoy the music... by listening closely... I am not a sound enginere, but to me it sounds like some kind of filter has been applied, which remove lots and lots of frequencies from the audio, when the music / sound is very silent, but the problem is, that it happens a lot in classical. Just try and listen to the beginning the last track, 3rd movement of Grieg's Concerto. It honestly sounds like it's coming out of a stereo telephone to me, so thin is the sound, and then... a few seconds in... Boom! The sounds suddenly gets thicker sound... but not enough, and the fact that the tape has been transfered at a way to high speed, so the concertos are more in A sharp minor insteat of A minor, doesn't help either. I was expecting to could sit back and enjoy this beautiful music in Hi-Fi, but guess I'll just go and dig out my old LP, and prop on my rusty turntable, atleast the sound will be a little better that way. The only posetive thing I can say about the sound is, that they did a fine job of removing the clicks seemlessly. If you didn't know the clicks were there in the original recording, you wouldn't know that they'd ever been there by listening to this transfer. So in my upinion the conclusion will be that this enginere is good at removing, but personally, I would preffer actually having some music to listen too, it would be worth it with a little tape noise.
