Reiner and the CSO certainly rule in most repertoire. However, Szell and his wondrous Cleveland band boot this one into touch when it comes to the Wagner 'Bleeding Chunks' stakes. Also, surprisingly, the sound is really rather scruffy - not at all what one expects from a Mohr/Layton production! In fact, this is uncomfortably far from normal Shaded Dog sonic standards.
