Frager's Prokofiev 2
This is a valuable release, and the sort of thing HDTT should be doing more of, namely, making available performances that the labels have largely ignored in their reissuing. It's a smoker of a performance, and sounds very well. Listening to this performance, one really believes the 2nd concerto is Prokofiev's masterpiece in the form. I can't compare the sound to CD, as I've never come across a CD of this performance. The Haydn is well played and enjoyable, but few will be buying it for that.
