Disappointing
This recording is the second one released by RCA as a stereo LP and one of the most famous. The sound quality and the performance by Fiedler are both superb. Unfortunately, I can only recommend this HDTT transfer if you don’t have access to one of the excellent vinyl reissues. Compared to these, I find the HDTT version way too bright, and lacking in warmth and ambiance. The string sound is particularly harsh and detracts from the overall greatness of this famous recording.

must own
Offenbach Gaîté Parisienne....like the best dessert you ever had! PURE DSD

So Good format worthly buying enough
Compared to other remastered formats released before, we can hear more good sounds and even can hear that we didn't hear on previous released formats. But there was only one thing that was lacking, It would be better if only the track isn't divided well at the end (vivo ~ barcarolle). I don't think it's difficult, so I think operating staffs can solve it as soon as possible.
A gem! Just play it!
This one is a major winner for audiophiles and a coup for HDTT. The 1956 Golden Age performance by the Boston Pops and Arthur Fiedler is superb. I can't imagine a better one. Offenbach was reviled in his time, and is in ours as well, for writing "light" music. His work was also not supposed to last. Wrong, and wrong. The original 1956 RCA stereo is also top drawer. In pure DSD 256, Bob Witrak's preferred Hi-Rez format, the sound is startling in its realism and all-around excellence. Soundstage, details, room ambience in Boston Symphony Hall, are all top-flight. My rating: not just audiophile, but Audiophile Demonstration Grade. It's so exciting that if your heart isn't racing, call the EMTs and advise them to have the paddles ready. Play this one for those people who insist that digital cannot equal analog/vinyl. And for those people who say they don't like music. And for those people say they don't care about audiophile sound. Whatever, just play it!
