I’m very happy with the sound quality of the transfer. Be aware that drums and bass are each on one side of the stereo spectrum only (which doesn’t bother me in the least but might be unusual to some). There are some instrumental solos but it’s Zetterlund’s voice that’s in the foreground most of the time.
I’ve really enjoyed this 256 dsd transfer of Bill Evans. It seems like I am listening to the master tape. I plan more purchases in the future because of the high quality of these transfers!
This vocalist's range is very limited. But like Jeri Southern she can convey expression without exceeding a single octave. The instrumentalists are up to Bill Evan's quality and well recorded here. Several listenings increases the appreciation
strength in numbers
Waltz For Debby alone is a masterpiece so when I saw this it was easy to take the chance on comparison. Overall a perfect evolution of his art on the 1st and the DSD is icing on the cake...recommended to fans of W4D
