Good sound, mixed pieces
Excellent vintage Decca sound is manifested on both pieces, although Pacific 231 unfortunately overloads mightily at the end. The two pieces contrast strongly - the Pacific 231 is, of course, a well-known descriptive piece, beloved of train enthusiasts; However, the austere Roi David is little played and semi-incomprehensible unless you are fluent in French and willing to follow the libretto.
