As you can imagine, we audition many titles, and many are already well-known for their great sound and/or performances. But when we stumble across a release like this, featuring sound that is easily among the most natural we have heard lately, paired with truly stellar performances, it is deeply satisfying. Without a doubt, we would label this recording a true "sleeper."
Karl Ristenpart and The Chamber Orchestra Of The Sarre bring these wonderful early Haydn symphonies - Nos. 6 ("Le Matin"), 7 ("Le Midi"), and 8 ("Le Soir") - to life with incredible vibrancy, charm, and musicality. Originally released by Le Club Français du Disque in 1963, this gem has been meticulously transferred from a tape to bring out every ounce of its acoustic warmth and instrumental detail. It is a magnificent addition to our catalog and a must-have for lovers of classical orchestral music.

Components used for Transfer:
This transfer leverages precision analogue playback and mastering-grade digital conversion. The signal path begins with a modified Studer A810 with Flux Heads, fed through a Merrill Audio Master MX Tape Head Preamp. The analog signal is converted via a Merging Hapi converter, synchronized to an Antelope Audio 10MX atomic clock for temporal accuracy. All components receive isolated power conditioning through a Shunyata Research Everest 8000 with Shunyata Sigma-X power cords, while grounding infrastructure utilizes Shunyata ALTAIRA hubs to minimize noise floor and preserve sonic detail throughout the transfer chain.
