Greg Ward Trio - A Great Album
This is the 1st time i came across Greg Ward. The Alto Sax played by Greg Ward is really good and so good that i play this album every day. Highly recommended album. Jazz Lovers should not miss this album. Transferred from the 15ips master tape to by Jonathan Horwich is great.

Chicago has a vibrant, unique, and modern jazz culture that is masterfully represented here by alto saxophonist Greg Ward’s trio. Constantly pushing the boundaries of convention, the trio explores standard tunes (April In Paris for example), setting up a contrast between the conventional and the avant, yet never wandering too far afield. The result is original and refreshing. Further, the performances were captured on the highest quality equipment including a Studer/Revox 8-track custom tape recorder; a Neve RNR1 ribbon microphone on alto saxophone; a custom, tube, stereo microphone on piano; and a B&K instrument mic on bass. The result is stunning, natural sound, enhancing the impact of this unusual and beguiling performance.
