Glazunov "The Seasons" Ballet - Wolff - The Paris Conservatoire Orchestra

Wolff’s career spanned the golden age of French music, and he remains a significant figure in the history of French classical music performance. His recordings continue to be appreciated for their historical importance, and his work with the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra helped to shape the orchestra's identity in the early 20th century. Though less well-known than some of his contemporaries, Wolff's contributions to the world of French music and his sensitive approach to conducting have left a lasting legacy in the world of classical music. This performance would likely be a fine example of the classic French conducting style, marked by clarity and elegance, and a tribute to the lush Russian romanticism of Glazunov's score.
With the superior sonic quality that Decca is known for, this particular title should not be overlooked. This title is quite rare, so if you are an audiophile who appreciates the early Decca sound, it's a must-have.
