Samuels and his vibraphone
Intriguing, involving, perhaps not easy to play solo, without other instruments, and render the feeling of a double score music piece, but never boring to listen to. Recording at the top hi-fi!

Description:
Title: Dave Samuels, Solo Vibraphone
Recording Info:
Dave Samuels, with his original and distinct approach to the vibes, has established himself as one of the top mallet players in the world. Here he is found playing solo, a daunting task at best, as any flaws are readily exposed -- there is no rhythm section to support and fill in. But Samuels, a master, is up to the task and plays brilliantly.
Recorded by Jonathan Horwich on 1 August 1979 at the University of South Florida Business Administration Auditorium, Tampa, Florida.
Recorded on a two-track Studer/Levinson A-80 ML5 at 30ips using two Bruel and Kjaer (B&K) 4233/2619 capsule/preamp microphone combinations.
Transferred from the 15ips master tape to DSD256 by Jonathan Horwich
