Terrific!!!
Awesome recording of just a single voice accompanied by a piano. Brienn Perry IS INSIDE your living room, singing with gorgeous taste and subleties. Their transitions from the intimate to the full projected voice are simply terrific. The songs, by the way, are really beatiful and makes you think of that time when this type of high quality "jazz-pop" music was an everiday thing. A "must have". Highly recommended.
Excellent SQ
small amount of hiss but excellent sound quality. Cootie Williams and Dee Alexander’s Magic are my Favs. Some of the best recordings i’ve heard
Wonderful Recording
This is a very natural sounding acoustic session

Probably the most difficult instrument to record is the human voice. Usually its quality is encumbered with recording and mixing artifacts, but not here. It is completely natural and just “there.” Perry is a Chicago singer with a deep, rich, and resonant voice, and he is brilliantly accompanied by Jeremy Kahn on piano. Jeremy evinces a special touch and swing few pianists can muster. Recorded with the finest microphones available (a Neumann U-67 on voice and a handmade tube stereo microphone on piano) this is gorgeous music featuring classic jazz standards sung as naturally as you will hear. Stunning.
