Good sound

It is good that we can enjoy these old titles in good DSD quality sound. If not for this release, we will not have the opportunity to appreciate the good sound quality of this old recording. The sound quality is on par with the expensive Japanese reissues of other Ansermet's titles on SACDs.

STUNNING SOUND / Track Listing Error Memo

Good as the budget London Weekend Classics CD is, its' substantially wire glassy and wirey soundinging when compared to this absolute STUNNING open reel transfer from HDTT. Yes indeed, your ears will not be deceiving you. Symphonies 2 + 3 are 1954 Stereo recordings. As a footnote, there are track listing errors on HDTT's edition. Like the London Stereo Treasury CD, HDTT's transfer also contains Ansermet's 1954 Stereo recording of the "Prince Igor" Overture, which for whatever reason, does not apppear on the HDTT Track listing or the CD itself. The 3rd Symphony is listed as Tracks 5 + 6, but actually both movements play as one Track, on Track 5. The unlisted "Prince Igor" Overture will play on Track 6. Perhaps this all may be corected on future pressings.
