Beethoven Symphony No. 3 - Sir Georg Solti Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (Pure DSD)
Both the music and the technology here are very, very good. Before writing this, I went back to my gold standard for Beethoven symphonies, the Herbert Von Karajan recordings with the Berlin Philharmonic. From a technical perspective, this [Solti] recording is better. I found it had a better sound stage than my old CD made in the 80's played on a better than 30 year old player. I also liked some of Solti's slightly more 'brass forward' first movement . On the whole, I think the HVK recording are musically still my favorite. I would not hesitate to recommend this Solti recording as it is technically excellent and the interpretation, I think is very good.

Solti's Vienna Eroica
Solti's Beethoven recordings from Vienna in the late 50s are in most ways preferable to his later recordings in Chicago, and this gripping Eroica, has never sounded better than here.

Extraordinary recording : the great George Solti
A version made in the mythical Sofiensaal of Vienna at the time Solti undertakes the Wagnerian Ring. Very nice reading that makes all his greatness to work, at the antipodes current baroque readings. Excellent achievement Decca.
