Simply music
I love so much those cello and piano sonatas... The Fournier/Gulda interpretation stands to me among the very best next to Rostropovich/Richter. Deutsche Grammophon recently (2019) remastered this beautiful and unique session. They made their best to reduce tape hiss to minimum ; it's been done with subtility but i was feeling both piano and cello were cleaned as well. So, i come here and the dream comes true : i got my cello and piano back. You got the total package, every dimension of instruments are there, fully respected and magnified. Of course, you will hear a certain breath but it's part of the recording made in 1959. A great, great transfer. I love it. Don't hesitate, go for it. My review stands for other sonatas.
