Most coveted RCA - Volume Two
In spite of mislabeled tracks, the second volume of this RCA/Decca/Wilkinson masterpiece sounds just as exquisite as the first.

Ballet Music with the The Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden Vol II
An excellent choice to the vinyl, really really good

Another pearl of ballet music
I was very pleased about the continuation of the recordings from 'The Orchestra Of The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden Vol. II'. The quality of these recordings and that of your digitalization is again just as excellent as I described in my rewiev to Vol. I. Please add another (the last) Vol. III with the still missing recordings 'Carnaval' and 'Sleping Beauty'. John Daniel is right, writing: 'Sleeping Beauty excerpts are actually Swan Lake'. That means 'Carnaval' and 'Sleeping Beauty' are missing to complete the orinal shots. However, the Titel of 'Les Sylphides“ is correct. I'm waiting for Vol. III
Excellent transfers, as always, but be advised: titles incorrect!
(Downloaded 8/1/2-19) Sleeping Beauty excerpts are actually Swan Lake, and the Les Sylphides is something else entirely. If you're eventually purchasing all the Ballet Gala volumes, no big deal; music is all from same box set, but if you don't need another Swan Lake in your collection, but wanted to add the Les Sylphides, you will be disappointed.
Spellbinding and classy!
Idiomatic, sensitive and satisfying ballet nuggets in well conceived and constructed interpretations by Ernest Ansermet, a most seasoned performer heading the accomplished London orchestra of Covent Garden. This was originally a lavish RCA Soria serie production. This collection benefits from the superb engineering of Kenneth Wilkinson working in Kingsway Hal in 1959. The sound remains rich, spectacular with a still stunning combination of brightness and warmth. My onlly quibble is the surprising absence of the very short excerpts from Carnaval found in the original issue.
