Great HDTT Transfers of 'Golden Glow' Analog Sound!
Two little-played but very attractive 20th Century piano concertos, originally recorded in analog stereo by Vanguard Records and masterfully transferred by HDTT. (I purchased the 24-carat gold CD.) American-born Earl Wild turns in marvelously fleet performances as piano soloist. The orchestra, mostly drawn from former members of Toscanini's NBC Symphony, performs well under conductors Aaron Copland and Jorge Mester. Vanguard's analog sound was noted for its natural concert hall ambience and HDTT delivers Vanguard's trademark 'golden glow' experience in spades. A completely captivating recording!
