MIles Davis at the Blackhawk
This review will touch on the performance, recording and production and their effect on the playback. This is live recording by one of the great jazz artists. Any time a listener who admires Davis gets a chance to hear a great live performance, they should take it. This is a great performance, individually by Miles and collectively by the group. The recording of this was done according to my preference. The lead musicians dominiate the middle space, toward the front of the sound stage. The drums are off to the left and the piano is off to the right, recesivie to the lead artists. The bass player is in the rear of the group. Great setup. The production takes the performance and recording and blends it together. The DSD 256 version is technically better then vinyl can ever be and its available as a download whenever you prefer to listen to this resolution or another. What more could you ask for? But it, and if you dont hear some of the above characteristics, its time to work on your playback system awhile.

Miles Davis at the Blackhawk
A great live recording of Miles at the absolute peak of his powers. The recording is excellent and the transfer to digital is simply as good as it gets. Some really bold dynamic playing here that was very well captured to tape. One of the more interesting Miles recordings and good window into what it would have been like to be at one of those shows.

Special
Very special album. Live performances with a unique edge. Recommended

Miles Davis In Person Friday and Saturday Nights at The Blackhawk Complete
An incredibly dynamic and hard driving live performance. Kelly and Chambers play off of each other so well, while Mobley and Davis go at it very hard. the sound is beautiful and once again HDTT's DSD 256 file does not disappoint. A must have live performance by Miles Davis.
