I have many recordings in my collection, from many different sources, but the Klipsch Tape reissues are among the best I’ve heard. It really feels live, like I’m actually there, in the middle of the players. Such realism. It is a delight to listen to each of these tracks.
The drum solo really wowed me, that they could capture that much in the 50s. Sure sometimes these recordings can sound a little dated, but the sonics hold up overall and it was a pleasure to listen to this (and Vol. 1) through my system!
Sorry not to share the general enthusiasm. Without prejudging the music itself, which is a matter of personal taste, the rendering of the recording by itself is from MY point of view and on MY system, which by the way is very resolving, of very poor quality. The instruments are distributed on the right and left speakers and .... nothing in the middle. Personally, such a lack of realism in the rendering of the sound scene, prevents me from enjoying the music, even if it be.
