Sam Morrison — Dark Matter, superb music and sound
A superior side by Sam Morrison. It pushes the bounds of jazz but I wouldn’t call it fusion either. Intriguing and unique. Excellent sound quality from this HDTT title.

Join Sam on his journey. Get ready for thousand trips!
Wherever Sam performs, anyone can sense he's playing from his heart. This most recent release come about setting up musical environments in his head and on his computer for him to explore and have fun in. He improvises on top of it. On the "Dark Matter" CD, these environments are inspired by pictures of distant galaxies where he's the only one present and music is floating around in his head. Sam has played with some truly great players and that experience has allowed him to hear what cool humans might be playing if they were there with him at that moment. The technology allows him to create new music by himself, alone in the woods, a couple hours drive to Manhattan. But also alone in the Universe between galaxies. Sam Morrison surely still keeps going. His art manifestation is pure; he has and can reach mountains tops. For those of you who saw him performing back in the day, that was a time when he reached the mountain top. You have seen this music collaboration expand the breadth of one’s knowledge and open one up to understanding people of all races, creeds, and social classes. Miles certainly exposes others to new cultures. If you were at the Electric Miles concert in Milan , you would have seen him at the mountain top again realising that passion stimulates one to create and expands one’s mind.
Mid 70's Fusion
If you like me grew up on Bitch's Brew and particularly Herbie's Head Hunters you should take a listen to Sam Morrison's recently released album which is steeped in 1970's fusion. Funky tracks well recorded. Fantastic synthetic soundstage from this two channel recording. Particularly love this album upsampled to DSD128 with HQplayer.
