By far the best version of this album I've heard.
I thought it couldn't get better than the 24/96 by Impulse! on Qobuz, but this transfer is next level. So many little things I'd never heard before, with a far more robust midrange to boot. These guys are the real deal.

Great Sound!
With my equipment, the dsf files sound way better than the high resolution .wav files. Maybe as good as my vinyl, without the tics and pops. Please make many more of these dsd releases.

Charles Mingus - The Black Saint and the Sinner Lady DXD (352.8-24)
I've had several versions of this recording over the years (CD, 96-24) and this one is by far the best. It brings forth detail and texture that I had not previously heard.

Charlie Mingus - The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady
This edition of Charlie Mingus - The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady is a must have. I tried asking HDTT what the source was for their tape (e.g. is this from a commercial tape or the studio tape). No doubt, everyone has their own copy of The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady on some version or CD or an Acoustic Sounds 180g vinyl. This HDTT is not necessarily less expensive than the vinyl, but worth it because this is such a clean version and everyone playing comes alive.

It just sounds amazing
I'll start with the conclusion: this sounds amazing. I'm no stranger to high res audio, having purchase several albums from the major high res distributors. I have never heard anything so clear and lifelike as the HDTT version of The Black Saint And The Sinner Lady. Listening on headphones (Sennheiser HD 650, Topping DX3 Pro+), it sounds like the band is sitting around me playing live. Highly, highly recommended.
