A very nice album sounds even better in this Redux release

A very nice album of live performances by this excellent Trio. The live recorded sound is nicely balanced and detailed, the audience noise not obtrusive. This 2023 Redux release gives all-around better sonics compared to HDTT's original 2015 release (titled "The Trio Live"): cleaner, more resolving of detail, a bit more open sound. Love the additional resolution the Redux delivers for Ray Brown's bass and Ed Thigpen's cymbals. An example of this improved resolution is easily heard in Peterson's complex cascading notes in "On Green Dolphin Street," they are now very resolved and no longer a somewhat murky mass. It does sound like the transfer is at a bit lower level than the original release, so adjust accordingly if you also have the earlier release and are comparing. The payoff is a more open sound with greater air. For me, this new Redux is an improvement in sound quality worth the replacement investment. YMMV.
