There is only one David Oistrakh
I grew up with the Stockholm/Sixten Ehrling recording, where Oistrakh's trademark imperious playing simply stuns. I wore out that mono LP by the end of the 60s (it was my parents'). I have heard most other Oistrakh Beethoven Violin recordings. This one with André Cluytens is a serious contender, and the elimination of the vinyl's snap-crackle-pop in the digital world, and now in Hi-Res, is a welcome bonus.

That's excellent
When I listened to the performance of the music, I was impressed by its dignity and strength.

Great transfer
I have at least 5versions of this famous album, HDTT transfer is stunning, super good!
Oistrach violin
This is my favorite performance of this concerto. The Heifetz version has a wider stage and more dramatic bass, but Oistrach’s violin sound is to die for. EMI has reissued this performance on vinyl, but I prefer the more open and detailed sound of this HDTT version. Highly recommended.
