Sounds very clear. Beautiful music. Really great performance.
Hard to beat Krips and Vienna when it comes to the unique tonal beauty of classical performance from the 60’s. It won’t surprise you but it is still gorgeous to listen to.
A divine and justly famed Schubert Unfinished here, in lovely sonics with but a trace of steeliness in upper strings. As for the Haydn, your reaction will be tempered by where on the Historic Practice/Big Band spectrum you lie. BB afficiaonados will just love this, although I find the stodgy tempi a bit off-putting. Fine sonics on this.
